What are the minimum computer requirements?

Whilst not a requirement, it is strongly recommended that you install a personal firewall and anti-virus software on your computer to maximise your online security. How can I ensure no-one else can access my accounts?

Firstly, ensure you do not share your Customer number and your password with ANYONE. Do not give your password to anyone. SBS staff will NEVER ask you to disclose your password or PIN number. Change your password regularly. SBS Internet Banking requires that your password be a combination of letters and numbers (at least 2 of each with your password being a minimum total length of 8 and a maximum length of 32). Do not use words or phrases that can be easily guessed for example your pet or child's name and birth date. Don't write your password down.

How do I change the accounts I can access?

Simply call us on 0800 502 442, or visit any branch of SBS. Our staff will be happy to make these changes for you and explain which facilities you can use with your SBS accounts.

How do I modify the list of bill payees?

For your protection, SBS requires that you advise us of the details of each payee. We then enable payments from your accounts to these nominated payees only. This ensures that no one can send funds to accounts you have not activated, should an unauthorised person gain access to your accounts.

To modify your list of bill payees, simply call us on 0800 502 442 and advise us of the details (typically account number and the required reference information). If the payee is registered with SBS, we may be able to assist you in determining what information is required and where to locate it. Bill Payees are available to both Internet and Telephone Banking services once established.

Why can't I make a bill payment to an unregistered payee?

SBS has chosen this system to provide members with a higher level of Internet Banking (IB) security. In the unlikely event that a members security is breached (password stolen or IB is left unattended) the pre-arranged bill payment option will only allow money to be transferred to accounts that members have selected.

Can I set up a regular recurring payment?

Yes. On the bill payments screen simply specify the amount, start date, frequency and either the end date or tick the "until further notice" option. You can cancel future payments from the list Internet or Telephone Banking payments screens.

I can't find my question here. What do I do now?

If you can't find the answer to your question in this list, please call us on 0800 502 442 during office hours to get in contact with a Customer Service Representative.
