At SBS, our philosophy is to provide the best person-to-person banking service that we can offer. However we do realise that sometimes you need to manage your money when it best suits you.

ATM/EFT-POS

Your SBS card will work in ATM and EFTPOS machines throughout New Zealand and even overseas, where you can access to your account and instant cash withdrawals, wherever the Cirrus and Maestro logos are displayed.

Using your SBS card you can check account balances and transfer funds at any ATM machine in New Zealand.

Please note: When you use your card to make a foreign currency transaction, your transaction will be converted to New Zealand dollars at a rate of exchange determined by MasterCard.  MasterCard will charge a fee being 1.1% of the foreign currency transaction amount.  The total converted amount will appear on your statement.

Telephone Banking and Internet Banking

This is a great alternative for those quick fire queries you may have about your accounts.

You can check your account balance, transfer funds, and even arrange bill payments.

The best advantage of these services is the convenience. If you have a touchtone phone or an Internet-capable computer, you can attend to your everyday banking needs at your own pace and at a time that suits you, regardless of business hours.

Cheque Accounts

If you prefer to manage your finances with the use of a cheque book, SBS is only too happy to provide you with a means of paying bills when you need to.

Direct Debits/Automatic Payments

We all have regular bills to pay, but convenient easy to use features such as direct debits or automatic payments take the hassle out of bill payments.

Important Notes: Members who have an SBS Mortgage or a minimum monthly account balance of $5000 or more in their Transactional account qualify for 20 free customer initiated transactions.

Please note: There are no additional charges for the following services:

  • Telephone Banking
  • Automatic Payment establishment / amendment / cancellation.
  • Direct Debit establishment / amendment / cancellation.
Transactional Charges
   
  • If you have a minimum monthly transactional account balance less than $5000. Then all customer-initiated withdrawals charged at $0.45 per withdrawal
   
  • Members who have an SBS Mortgage or a minimum monthly account balance of $5000 or more in their Transactional account qualify for 20 free customer initiated transactions.

Transactional fees are calculated on customer-initiated withdrawals and charged monthly, on the anniversary date of opening the account.  Customer-initiated withdrawals include:

  • ATM Withdrawals
  • EFTPOS Purchases
  • Cheque Withdrawals
  • Withdrawals made at SBS branches
  • Telephone / Internet banking Payments and Transfers
  • Direct Debits & Automatic Payments

Transactional fee exemptions may apply to customers under 18 years of age or over 65 years of age.
